Digital ID and reusable age tokens
Also called: digital ID wallet, digital identity app, reusable digital ID, age token, AgeKey.
What it collects
An over-18 attribute shared from a digital identity app (for example the Yoti app or Post Office EasyID) or from a reusable token issued after a previous check (for example Ondato's OnAge, k-ID's AgeKey). The original identity check happened earlier, with the app or token provider. Certified UK providers are listed on the government's Digital Verification Services register.

Listed in Ofcom's January 2025 guidance (as digital identity services) as capable of being highly effective. From autumn 2026 the government intends certified digital IDs to be accepted for alcohol sales in England and Wales. Ofcom
